Communication Skills for Successful Health Care Team Relationships

This webinar will review communication and group dynamic issues that can impact the working relationship within health care teams. Participants will learn tools and resources to help improve communication and group interactions to help support successful health care teams. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize and understand the importance of communication and relationship development in the development of, and ongoing work of a health care team.
  2. Identify communication strategies for participants to use to foster better communication within their own health care team.
  3. Understand the theory of group dynamics and how it applies to health care teams.
  4. Recognize the characteristics of an effective and an ineffective team and identify strategies to move a team from ineffective to effective.


Presenter Cathy Frey has over twenty-five years of experience working in a variety of different health care organizations. Currently, Ms. Frey serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Central Valley Health Network (CVHN), a network of community health centers located throughout 20 counties in California’s Central Valley. Prior to joining CVHN, Ms. Frey served as the Executive Director for the Alliance for Rural Community Health and as Director of Health Policy and Resource Development for the Redwood Community Health Coalition. She has held administrative positions in large hospitals, private practices and coordinated the Continuing Education Program for Physicians at the California Medical Association.
