About the Conference

This longest running rural health conference in the nation is a seminal health promotion event for rural Arizona and the southwest. Primary sponsors of this event are the Rural Health Office at the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the Arizona Rural Health Association. Over 25 leaders in rural health comprised the statewide planning committee for this year’s conference, in addition to 18 local leaders and health representatives forming a local planning team from Bisbee and Cochise County.

This truly is a grass roots, collaborative conference that promises innovative perspectives and approaches to rural health. The theme of the 2006 conference was Beyond Borders: Collaborating for Health in Rural Arizona.
