Professor Jane Farmer is a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Rural Health in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Jane is visiting The University of Arizona to build partnerships to help her prepare for her new position as the head of the new rural health professions program at La Trobe University. As the new head, Farmer is interested in learning more about international rural issues.

Professor Farmer is working as the Head of La Trobe Rural Health School in La Trobe University in Bendigo, Victoria. Dr. Farmer has her Master of Arts from the University of St. Andrews and her PhD in Health Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Throughout her career, she has had a lot of experience in rural health. She has worked on many research projects and has written books on rural health. Jane was also the previous Chair of Rural Health Policy and Management and the Co-director of the Centre of Rural Health at the University of Highlands & Islands in Iverness, Scotland.
