Alivia Gleason, a senior in the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at The University of Arizona, is the Arizona Center for Rural Health (AzCRH) Marketing and Social Media Intern. Alivia was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She volunteered at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and with various other non-profit organizations. In 2016, Alivia joined the Eller Professional Sales Club and was the Leadership and Nominating Committee Chairman for her sorority. She led an 11-person committee managing human resource functions for chapter and campus leadership positions. Alivia maintained leadership interest profiles for 300 Chapter members to identify emerging leader potential; developed customized educational workshops to explain leadership opportunities; reviewed chapter officer applications, and conducted behavioral based interviews to present suggested Executive Council Officers to the chapter. At AzCRH, Alivia markets public health events via several online platforms; attends AzCRH and partner meetings; creates social media and public health messaging; drafts the AzCRH monthly newsletter, and markets the Arizona Prescription Drug Misuse and Abuse Initiative free Continuing Medical Education. Alivia is a trained and certified health insurance Navigator and aims to help Arizonans improve their health and wellbeing.
