5th Annual Rural Women’s Health Symposium
5th Annual Rural Women’s Health Symposium: Advancing Health Equity for Women
The 5th Annual Rural Women’s Health Symposium has been postponed to August 20th - 21st, 2020. The safety and health of our participants, speakers and exhibitors is vital, therefore we are continuously monitoring the evolution of COVID-19. As we continue to plan for the new dates we recognize that the circumstances, due to COVID-19, can change from now until August, therefore registration for the symposium is risk-free and hotel cancellations can be made 48 hours ahead of the symposium date. We will inform everyone with any changes and will adjust to the new norms of health and safety. Thank you for understanding as we make changes and decisions.
This year’s theme is Advancing Health Equity for Women. The goal for this symposium is to explore a wide variety of approaches and factors that can impact women’s health through a health equity lens. “By health equity, we mean everyone has the opportunity to attain their highest level of health” (APHA). Find out more about inequities in this linked APHA document. We hope to raise awareness and increase knowledge of health related issues among women and health equity in rural Arizona.
