National Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) 16th Annual Prescription Drug Take Back Day
The 16th Annual Prescription Drug Take Back Day is on October 27, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People across the country will take leftover prescription drugs to community collection sites to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal. The DEA sponsors this annual event, and last year Americans nationwide did their part to reduce the opioid crisis by bringing the DEA and its more than 4,683 local and tribal law enforcement partners a record-setting 949,046 pounds of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for disposal at more than 5,842 collection sites.
We encourage your organization to join this national initiative to address this vital public safety and health issue by urging your staff members and those you serve to participate and/or distribute posters, pamphlets, and banners found on the DEA National Take Back Day's website.
