Biography

Alyssa Padilla, MPH is the Center for Rural Health and Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center's Community Outreach Manager. Alyssa oversees Project SHARE to help Arizonans understand and enroll in health insurance and manages our efforts with the Arizona Prescription Drug Overdose programs via the Arizona Department of Health Services. Alyssa graduated with her MPH from the University of Arizona, College of Public Health in 2013, and completed her Masters internship with Will Humble, former Director of the AZ Department of Health Services on uninsured with serious mental illness.  Post-graduation, she completed a 50-state assessment for Providence Service Corporation on the effects of the Affordable Care Act on behavioral health, social support, and criminal justice services. 

Alyssa also graduated from the UA Eller College of Management with a focus in Marketing in 2009. Between undergraduate and graduate school, she worked for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Public Policy Fellowship in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill and with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Global Health Affairs.

Prior to CRH, Alyssa worked for the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities working with adults with disabilities in Marana, Catalina, Tortolita, Casas Adobes, and Oro Valley. Her public health interests include improving health equity and reducing health disparities for vulnerable and underserved populations across the state. Born and raised in Tucson, Alyssa is committed to serving the Arizona community.
