Hospital Profile:
Cochise Regional Hospital, located in Douglas, Arizona, reached a significant milestone in 2010 – celebrating 100 years of serving the community This 25 bed acute care hospital provides general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients. Core services include laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, telemedicine, and teletrauma. The nine physicians practicing at the hospital are a blend of family practice, podiatry, cardiology, cataract surgery, and hospitalist. Community Healthcare of Douglas, the Rural Health Clinic located on the hospital campus, provides services focusing on chronic illness, adult and geriatric care, preventive medicine which includes Alzheimer, osteoporosis, cardiac care, chronic lung disease, allergy, cancer and diabetic screening. Finally, the hospital’s ER recently received Level IV Trauma Center designation from the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems, allowing the facility to support the state’s Level I Trauma Centers by resuscitating and stabilizing a patient, then transferring a patient to a more appropriate trauma center based on a patient’s injuries.
