Mobilizing Partnerships to Advancing Health Equity and Addressing Disparities (AHEAD) in Arizona

The Advancing Health Equity and Addressing Disparities in Arizona (AHEAD AZ) program in collaboration with Cochise County Health and Social Services developed the Naloxone Administration Training video to educate individuals on the opioid epidemic.

This video informs the public about signs of overdose, Samaritan Law, and health-related risks that individuals with opioid and substance use disorders may experience. This partnership also engaged Melody Glenn, MD MFA FASAM, Assistant Professor, the UArizona Departments of Emergency Medicine & Psychiatry, Director, Addiction Consult Liaison Service, Banner UArizona Tucson who provides step by step instructions on the use of Naloxone (Narcan) to reverse an overdose and Elena Cameron from the UArizona Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center.
