Closing the gap in pediatric eye care: A network adequacy study
Learning objectives:
- Evaluate gaps in pediatric vision care networks in Arizona, focusing on disparities for Medicaid (AHCCCS) patients, rural residents, and children under 5.
- Analyze barriers to accessing pediatric vision care, including provider availability, bilingual services, and directory reliability.
- Identify strategies to improve access to pediatric vision care for underserved populations.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Rizwana Biviji is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University. She has a PhD in Health Policy and Management and M.S. in Nutrition Science. Her research centers around maternal and child health, digital health, health policy and health disparities. Primarily her research focuses on reducing barriers to high quality care by evaluating health policies, workforce capacities, and behavioral interventions. She also studies consumer behavior patterns and user uptake of digital health tools such as mobile health platforms and telemedicine as means to reduce access barriers and improve health outcomes.
