Bio: Salina Mansukhani is a member of the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI) and a national advocate for lung cancer screenings. She is an undergraduate student at the University of Holy Cross (UHC) in New Orleans, LA pursuing a dual major and has aspirations to attend medical school. Salina is passionate about serving underserved and vulnerable patient populations. As a lung cancer screening advocate, she has seen firsthand how lung cancer can devastate families when caught at late stages, and she is committed to ensuring that more communities are aware of lung cancer screenings and the difference that early screening makes in patient outcomes. Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, yet early detection can dramatically improve survival rates. As an advocate, she works to educate our community about who should be screened, how screenings save lives, and the resources available locally to support patients and families. She is also the founder of the Red Cross Club at UHC and an avid student leader on campus. In addition to her community outreach and public speaking initiatives through ALCSI, she also conducts research focusing on lung cancer screening disparities in high-risk populations. ALCSI’s goal is to increase awareness and equitable access to low-dose CT screenings. Her commitment to early detection and health equity shines through her efforts in advocacy across city council meetings, radio stations, and various speaking forums across Louisiana.
