Arizona's 2022 Community Star Nominee
Amber Bahm, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, BC-ADM
CELEBRATING THE POWER OF RURAL
NOSORH’s annual Community Star Recognition Program, in conjunction with National Rural Health Day, honors the individuals, coalitions and organizations whose contributions are making a difference in rural health through collaboration, education, innovation, and communication.
From her nomination application:
"To find an exemplary example of clinical expertise, skill, and compassion, look no further than Amber Bahm, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, BC-ADM. Amber works in an area designated to have a medically underserved population, and is the only nurse practitioner in the only community health center in her community in Northern Arizona. She treats some of the most vulnerable and high-risk community members, all while advocating for equitable care for each and every patient. She keeps staff on their toes connecting her patients with every available resource she is aware of and heavily utilizes agency programs to ensure patients are able to not only access but also afford medications needed to manage their health conditions. She is known to be a one-man-band, meaning she jumps to immediately address patient and clinic needs. Whether that means faxing a referral to a specialist, requesting medical records from another agency, checking a patient's blood pressure, hosting all day trainings for her peers, or educating patients on diet and lifestyle changes. Amber is not weary of work and doesn't scoff at tasks at hand. Whatever is needed, Amber is there."
