
The number of people with health insurance in Arizona and the U.S. rose last year, after pandemic-era expansion of coverage. But those numbers have likely dropped sharply since then, as states phase out pandemic programs.

The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA), Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, in collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), invite you to a 90 minute webinar on the Women’s Preventive Services Initiative (WPSI).
Participants in this webinar will learn about:
- HRSA’s cooperative agreement with ACOG to develop, review, and update recommendations for women’s preventive healthcare services;
- HRSA-sponsored Women’s Preventive Services Guidelines – the existing preventive service recommendations, adopted by HRSA, that help ensure that women receive a comprehensive set of preventive services without having to pay a co-payment, co-insurance or deductible;
- Opportunities, for both patients and providers, to support implementation of the current recommendations into standard clinical practice.

Dr. Diana Ramos, California Surgeon General, WPSI Advisory Panel Member
Dr. Diana E. Ramos is the California Surgeon General, where she serves as a key spokesperson on public health issues throughout the state and advises the Governor on efforts to address health risks and challenges as effectively and as early as possible. Dr. Ramos has more than three decades of cross-cutting experience and expertise with a focus on health equity and reproductive health. In addition, she currently serves at the California Department of Public Health’s Center for Healthy Communities, where she oversees the state’s public health and prevention programs. She has been an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine since 1999 and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gami-Fi Health since 2018. Dr. Ramos was a Public Health Medical Officer at the California Department of Public Health from 2017 to 2021 and Director of Reproductive Health at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division from 2005 to 2017.
Dr. Ramos is an Executive Board Member of the California Maternal Care Quality Collaborative, Secretary of the National Hispanic Medical Association Executive Board and Co-Chair of the Women’s Preventive Services Initiative Implementation Committee. She is the Immediate Past Chair of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) District IX, previous Co-Chair of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) ACOG Delegation and current ACOG delegate to the AMA. She earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Business and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.
