Back to School means gearing up for the year ahead, and for many that means covering all the bases including healthcare. Finding healthcare can be a daunting task but Arizona Center for Rural Health Certified Assisters are here to help. Armed with years of experience, patience and information our Navigators come alongside families and help them understand their health insurance coverage and the benefits and eligibility for Medicaid (AHCCCS or KidsCare in Arizona), Affordable Care Act (ACA) Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) and other coverage.

Maria Losoya, has been helping people in Southern Arizona access health care for years. On a recent July day she was back at it, participating in a back to school event hosted by Nogales Public School District at the Ray Molera Gymnasium at Nogales High School in Nogales Arizona. Maria provided more than a warm smile and information about health insurance. She also had school supplies to hand out, donated by the produce industry in Nogales.

Arizona Center for Rural Health Certified Assisters, or Navigators, are a vital link to information and access to health care for communities. Often holding regular information sessions or appointments in community spaces like public libraries, food banks, and events like the Back to School event held in Nogales.
